my remote key fob stopped working for my Volvo 440. I changed the batteries but it still did not work. I put the key in the ignition but the car would not start due to the immobiliser doing its job.
The AA man could not get it working.
I got my spare key and fob and that works perfectly.
Can anyone advise me how to reset my original fob?

Sometimes they get confused. Take the batteries out and press one of the buttons for about 30 seconds. This seems to discharge and reset the fob.
Also my old 440's immobiliser wouldn't work in certain areas (due to radio signals), moving the car down the road used to help.
