Riello 40 series burner stops ?

Help! I just changed my filter and nozzle. All ran well for several hours and the burner stopped, having to hit the reset to start again. This repeated several times, could there still be air in the system? Note: sometimes it will be fine for as long as 16 hours before it stops

John,

Thanks so much for your help, It has been running fine since yesterday; however, I found the screw on the side of the gery box loose (doubtful if that was it). I'm hoping the last bit of air may have worked through or that loose screw may have been the problem.
The unit is less then three years old so I rather think this was self a induced problem.

Ok, my feelings lead me towards the solenoid coil on top of the oil pump (3 wires, grey thing) as its possible that it could be starting to fail. Its also vital that the metal bracket that covers the coil is in place.
Its strange though that the burner was presumably fine before you put a new nozzle in, etc. Its always vital to check the pump pressure though, and have a gas analysis done.....it can show up a multitude of problems.

Additional thought for analysis: starts and runs great; however, on occasion it has not started up without the aid of a reset. If I disturbed the photo eye or electrode, would it be intermittent like that?

I don't believe so......but if I did would it react this way, meaning run for long periods at a time?

After that amount of time, the air should be long expelled....if it was fine before, did you disturb the photocell or the electrode position behind the blast tube?
