The dryer wont dry the clothes, yet the washing machine side works okay. Does anyone know if I need to change the heater element or the thermostat?

I've a Hotpoint WD64 washer/dryer, water floods from the detergent tray when filling, everything seems clear, all pipes to drum are fine.
Is the cold water pressure too high? but it used to be ok? could there be a problem in the tray housing whereby the water is spraying outwards instead of downwards during fill?
Can you advise please.
Thanks Roy

how do you change the door seal on a Hotpoint WD64 washer Drier?

Hi ABZ? . Sounds like and blocked pump or sump . isolate the electrical supply/water & drop the drain hose low to the ground to syphon off the water in the drum.

Remove the rear back pannel (lots of screws! ) .
At the bottom of the drum is a black hose connected to the pump .

Remove this "L" shaped hose to find what is blocking it?(probably a Sock/ coins) also check the impella (fan) inside the pump moves freely this impella can be stoped by any thing from nails to bra wires! .

Good Luck ;)
