Polaroid HDTV Model 3700?

My Polaroid TV will not come on. The blue light comes on but the screen is black. Any pointers on what could be wrong?

We have lost the remote. How can I change my TV manually?

I pick one of these up tonight , opened it up reconnected all the connection and wiggled the whole screen \yea free flat screen for me.

it was offered for free and i thought it was too good to be true. It was. the catch was that I had to pick it up, (fair enough). Im just amazed at how far people will actually let you drive to take their garbage out. As for polaroid, it's not their fault. If the cameras are crappy why should we expect great quality when they venture out. There is no such thing as a common glitch, poor quality has struck again

I have this same problem with mine. You can repeatedly unplug it and plug it back in and try to start it again, but this is just a temporary solution. Eventually it will turn on and it will make a humming noise that will go away after a while. I called tech support about mine, but I cannot afford the $250 to get it fixed. They said that they would send out a service man to my house who would replace one of the capacitors in it or something. This seems to be a common problem with this set, so I am pretty upset that they didn't just make it with better components.
