why does my chainsaw burn the wood i am cutting, and also takes a long time?

my chainsaw although it seems fairly sharp, burns the wood on the wat through, and takes a long time to get through. the chain oiler is working now. but the chain and bar get very hot indeed.

"seems fairly sharp" may be the clue...

My cheap old electric chain saw used to do this - you can buy new chains and a chain shrpening kit - files and a sharpening jig - after sharpening I had no more heating. Sharpening took just a few minutes - a vice helped.

Sharpen the chain, Nick - I do mine every 30 mins of cutting, and keep a good spare. Use a quality chain bar oil too.
