my hotpoint bf162 dishwasher is only washing in cold water.keep stopping it to check temp but is always cold, any ideas thanks

It may well be the heating element - like in a washing machine, electric kettle or oven - all very similar. It may well be defective. The drying process in a dishwasher also depends on steam heat made by the element.

Your appliance engineer will soon have it sorted.
