As Mikomi is a Argos 'Owen Brand' then I wonder how on earth Argos can think that is anything to do with anyone OTHER than them! In this case they are not only the retailer but the manufacturer.
Under the various Sales of Goods Acts you don't need a receipt, it just helps.
So, first of all Argos MUST have sold you the TV because you can't buy Mikomis anywhere else.
Next by law, they had to take your name and address when you bought the TV and so they MUST have a record of the transaction.
Finally their warranty is in ADDITION to your rights under the Sale of Goods and Services Act. Which? say that a modern TV should last at least five years or it must have been faulty when the customer bought it. (Modern electronics don't actually wear out as such.)
If I was you I would go back to Argos, ask to see than manager, explain all the above, and ask that he/she get the TV repaired or replaced foc. If he/she says no, say that you WILL go tro tht Small Claims Court (You can do this very easily online www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/index.htm), force them to divulge their records and claim for the full amount plus expenses.
