I have the same issue. When I either press the green or the red phone symbol is goes to mute. I can't seem to connect my phone to the cars Bluetooth either, it doesn't show up on my phone BT selection.
Trying this radio reset now!

I have the same problem & have just had a quote from my Ford dealer £350 to replace bluetooth unit!!
Anyone over come this themselves? How do you "unmute audio"

reset your stereo, remove fuse 112 (15min).... (below glove box)
