how can I fix my cracked toilet cystern?

I have a crack in my toilet cystern wich is leaking into a bucket, it takes approximately 8 hrs. to fill the bucket, can the cystern be repaired?

My ceramic cistern did the same. I dried it while holding the ball cock up (closed) and I covered it in silicone sealant - lasted around 5 years.

You could try emptying the cistern, drying it thoroughly and applying some araldite adhesive on the inside of the crack...it could well work - at least for a while.
