How can I fix the strickes of the Session Mantel Clock?

I have a Vintage Session Mantel Clock, like the one with 4 Pillars, it will strike on the full hour but not very loud but correctly and you can hardly hear it on the half hour, what could I do to fix this problem

The hammers are normally held above the chimes with brass wire. Bend this wire to move the hammers closer to the chimes. If this does not work you should take it to a good repair shop where they can adjust the lift of the hammers. This requires a great deal of skill but can be done while you wait.
