First you will need to buy the batteries - you need 3 but they're usually sold in multiples of 2 so you will have to buy 4 of them.
Next open the back of the clock - observe the battery holder.
Insert the batteries into the battery holder paying attention to the polarization of each battery - they each have a positive and a negative terminal - it's important to place them in the correct orientation.
The flat base of the battery is the negative end and is usually placed against a circular spring in the battery holder. The pimple on the top of the battery is the positive terminal.
When you achieved this difficult challenge you will need to synchronise the cuckoo call with the hands.
Advance the hands until the cuckoo sings and notice what the bird indicates - then physically manipulate the hands on their shafts to match the bird song.
Put the clock back on the shelf/wall.
Good Luck..., May 2016
