Halogen lights gone dim ?

My sunken halogen kitchen lights have lost their bright glow and are now just a dim orange light. Any suggestions ?

There's no problem in replacing the transformer, so long as you can find it.....usually they are within a foot or so of the lamp itself. Often, if the lamp is pressed out of its housing, the transformer is tucked up in a space somewhere close, and is connected to the mains supply with a simple junction box.

Thanks John, are these easy to replace, is it a case of buying a new transformer to replace the old one ?

I can only suggest that the transformer powering them is packing in...assuming that they are 12v, of course!
