This may not work if the motherboard detects missing hardware, as I have had this problem, and it can be caused if for example you have the hardware in the PC, but cables might be disconnected.
It usually occurs with older systems.
Try putting any other hardware in the system, alter any jumpers to, etc, but try another graphics adapter in the system. If you hear beeps, this will usually mean that there is either loose connections, or the required hardware is not connected to the motherboard, eg memory, the hard disk might be set up as slave and not master, you may not have the required amount of memory. Try different options and good luck.
