Black and white on aerial input or only on Ext. AV input?
If on AV input, I would first check you haven't inadvertently connected or switched to S-VHS (super VHS) input, which processes colour and luminance seperately. On a Sony I believe its indicated by an (S) after the Ext input i.d. ie.. EXT2(S)
That's just a thought, as 99% of no colour queries we get are due to incorrect Ext AV settings.
Otherwise, if it's on all inputs RF and AV, colour decoding is mostly processed by one chip. So could be colour processor its oscillator. Another possibility is corrupted EEPROM on a more modern TV.
Not likely to be too expensive to repair.
