Lisa, put your washer on spin and use a pencil or pen to depress the lid switch, if your washer starts to spin and agitate at the same time then you have a bad gearcase/transmission. This is normally the cause of clothes wrapping around the agitator. Otherwise observe how you sort and select the proper agitate cycle to be used (fast/fast, fast/slow, slow/slow, extra slow/slow). good luck.
