I just got AT&T DSL 2 days ago and now I have tons of viruses and trojans and God knows what else. When I click to open internet explorer it will bring up a security screen to either add the software or keep browsing unprotected. When I click to keep browsing it goes back to the security screen and on the very top of the screen it will say Internet browser blocked. The only way to get onto the net is by going under the guest account. Been trying to download antivirus software and once I click open to start downloading I am logged off and Windows starts shutting down. Can you please help?

Step 1) You wouldn't expect to use a car without learning how to drive it. Learn about your computer.

Step 2) Load and update a good antivirus package. AVG Free is pretty good, although the bundled parasiteware from Yahoo is beneath contempt

Step 3) Go to www.whatthetech.com and join their self-help forum. It is a really useful site for cleaning up PC infections.

Step 4) Learn about how to avoid getting infected in the future. www.whatthetech.com may be useful there as well.

You have appear to have picked up what is known as Scareware. (A program pretending that your PC is infected to get money out of you.) You need to stop that program from starting by using autoruns. The install a good ant-virus like AVG (Its a free download) and run it. It will get rid of the scareware.

Or take the PC to a computer shop.
