What is normal position for diverter switch on hot water cylinder?

We have a honeywell diverter valve on the hot water cylinder. The little switch has been bumped by moving towels in the airing cupboard. Which way is the little lever supposed to be regularly? Would this account for our variable hot water temperature?

the little switch is automatic so it does not matter. if the valve has been faulty the the leaver can be manually engaged in a slot on the side of the valve this may produce more hot water as it will not be controlled by the cylinder stat
THIS SHOULD BE SORTED ASAP AS THIS WILL EFFECT YOUR GAS CONSUMPTION
