Potterton 80 not firing up. no 230v coming from the terminal T7 and T8?

Hi,

I have a potterton 80, and there is no voltage coming out of the Terminal 7 and 8 to drive the fan, what could be the problem?

I am all out of suggestions - if the fuse is good and there's a call for heat and the boiler is on (has power) and the overtemp has not tripped and the boiler stat is not on zero and you still have no 230V between 7 & 8 then the only thing I can think of is a wiring fault - when you changed the control board you may have failed to connect something correctly - it does happen.

Perhaps it's time for an expert - not a well intentioned amateur like me...

Continuing good luck...

hi Peccavi,

I have checked that. I have taken the fan connector off, and checked for 230v at the t7 and 8, but im still not getting any voltage. i have changed the control board now, and im still getting no voltage or spark at the boiler.

please advise.

thanks in advance

There should be 230V Between T7 & T8 for the fan to run...

There may be:
No call for heat
Boiler turned off
Fuse on PCB blown
Bad connection

The fan may be short circuit - remove the fan connections - replace the fuse if blown - make the call for heat and measure voltage between 7 & 8 - if you now have 230V then the fan may be blowing the fuse...

Good luck...
