install shower drain plate?

My new shower pan was installed but the drain plate does not sit flat. How do I remove the plate and reinstall so it lays flat? Ther are no visable screws in the plate but there is a notch on each side of the plate and a rubber gasket below the plate. The pan is fiberglass.
