Phillips HD4601/A Kettle Repair?

How does the base and controls come apart from the body of the kettle. There is a bolt with unusual head holding the handle and possible controls if this has to be removed what tool is required.
Gordon Desborough, November 2009
The two bolts for the handle require a 4mm allen key.

But to release the base, undo the two small crosshead screws in the base, and pull the base off downwards (it clips quite firmly onto the switch housing). The switch housing then unclips by pulling the bottom of it away from the kettle, before lifting it free of a clip at the top.
