How to repair a dimplex ofc2009ti?

The red neon light comes on to show power received but does not heat up. The lcd thermostat control does not come on either so does the current pass through this lcd display then into the heater itself which would mean it is this that needs replacing? ive checked all connections elsewhere and they are all secure thanks

Problem with Dimplex OFC2009Ti - try pressing the Reset (R) button on the right of the clock with a ballpoint (or similar) and holding down for a few seconds until the clock comes on. For now, select Manual On ... and see if heater warms up (select Max Thermo and position 3 on controls).
If this has worked ... leave heater on (either Off or whatever heat level you want) for a good time to charge battery up (suggest at least 8 hours).
After this, you should be able to PROGRAM or continue with Manual mode (PS be carefiul not to have selected Manual OFF ... ie. keep jogging Mode button until Display shows Manual On (V.small letters to extreme lower left)
Hope this fixes!

Hi,
If it lights up but doesn't heat up, then the temperature sensing cut-out switch is probably dead.
The switch is constantly heating up & then cutting out in order to prevent the heater from overheating. As a result of this process they do wear out.
If you are DIY able & safe you could replace the damaged part. Check the diagnosis by testing for a current at either side of the cut out switch.
If you are not good at DIY, I would suggest that it's no use to you as it will be cheaper to replace it than pay to have it repaired.
Try Freecycling it.!!
