Trying to Install Windows XP SP2?

My computer gets about 75% installed, then a box pops up stating that a Cyclic Redundancy Check error has occured after which the Uninstllation Wizard takes settings back to normal. Have tried repeatadely to reinstall SP2 without any joy, can anybody help or has anybody else had this problem. The computer is a Micro-Star International MS-6378

LOL SP1 S*CKS, DOWNLOAD A CLEAN SP2 AND HAVE FUN.
THERE IS A REASON FOR UPDATES. I DONT KNOW WHY ANYONE WOULD WANT TO KEEP CR*PPY OL XP SP1 ANYWAY
WINDOWS ALREADY HAS A NEW OS THATS SWEET.
XP SP2 NEVER SLOWED MY PC DOWN, BUT THEN AGAIN I WASNT ROLLIN WITH 256 RAM AND A MAYPOP VIDEO CARD.

GET VISTA ULTIMATE AND AN SLI VID,
16GIGS OF RAM, AND A DUAL CORE 64 BIT PROCESSOR
AND OVERCLOCK THE CRAP OUT OF IT.

NOW THATS FAST.
OR YA CAN HANG WITH THE CHI HUA HAU'S AND THEIR XP SP1/2
BUT NOT ME

I would stick to service pack 1. lots of people have had problems after installing service pack 2 some so much they have had to send thier computer back to the shop to have service pack 2 removed.

my advice would be too stick to service pack one i didn't like sp2 it seemed to slow things down

The CRC error is caused by the media that you are taking SP2 from. If it is from a CD ROM drive, then trying getting a new CD but it MIGHT be the drive. If coming from your hard disk try doing a defrag with error hecking and fixing enabled. Best of all if you have broadband or similar download afresh from Microsoft's web site.
