Reoccurring airlock in heating system*please help*?

Hi, I have a re occurring airlock in my system. The rads in top half of the house are as hot as possible but the rads downstairs are cold. I got a plumber out and he replaced the pump and drained the system to clear the airlock. This fixed the problem for a week and then the airlock reocurred, again the plumber cleared the airlock but again a week later it has happened again. Has anybody got any ideas why this maybe happening??? Please help!

Hi Peter, tks for the reply. tried your advise but with no luck. The rad in the living room is now cold as well.

Anybody help???

At a guess to clear the airlock, your plumber, simply turns off the radiators that are working forcing the water round the rest of the system and clearing the air lock. If it repeatedly happens there may be a pipework fault or sludge in the system.
