has the pump gone?

i've just been doing a bathroom. and i switched the hot water off and re-routed the pipe. now the central heating isn't working the boiler is getting very hot and so is the pump.and the pump is making a lot of noise. has the pump gone

Sounds more likely a lack of water in the system, make sure its filled up properly and all air is cleared.
