Find an old retired codger with an electronics background and a soldering iron in his shed - offer him the price of a couple of pints to do the soldering for you - do not hold him liable if by replacing the capacitors you mention he does not resolve the problem - it's your diagnosis.
If you try to DIY you will need all the equipment and that will cost you £20 minimum - probably double. Capacitors cost about 10p each perhaps a bit more... The common problem with novice solderers is too much solder and not enough heat but... when unsoldering too much heat "lifts" the printed circuit track and "Solder Wick" helps when taking out components.
