Water leaks from my Toilet?

Once my toilet tank fills in, the water doesnt stop from the mains, and still drips although a very thin stream, it fills the tank and leaks the overflow in the bowl. How do I get about this problem ?

The filler may be leaking, they have a rubber diaphragm which becomes worn as well as a small cone shaped bit that presses on it and shuts the water off. If you want to vhange these fine sometimes its easier just to change the whole thing, they are not expensive. Before rushing off though check whether you need one that fills from the side or the bottom and you will need to turn the water off first.

You may need to change the ballcock washer, its this that go's up against the water valve to stop the incoming water.

you need to adjust the (ajuster screw ) on the end of the ball cock arm , its a little plastic or brass screw, its at the other end of the arm from the ball . near were the water comes in , flush it first , the arm drops down , look along the arm , see the ajuster screw, trun it clock wise till your happy with the cut off point/
