In the middle of a wash cycle the machine popped and shorted the electrics in the house. I turned the electrics back on and the machine began to drain (of it's own accord), it then began to refill and shorted the electrics again. I unplugged the machine from the wall and was able to open the door. How can I drain the left over water in the machine? AND is it fixable? How do I diagnose the problem?

Sounds like an element fault. Disconnect the element, turn the machine on and select spin, this will drain the machine. Test and/or replace the element. this should fix it.
