F02 - Motor jammed tacho detached

Hiya,

F02 is listed as a motor

jammed or tacho failure.

Check that the motor is not siezed or damaged. Try turning the drum by hand. Does it turn easily and freely? Are there any strange noises from the motor area?

Check for broken wires from the motor plug to the main control board.

Check the main control board for signs of damage or burning.

Check that all plugs are firmly seated on the control board and into the motor.

If there's nothing obviously wrong I'd check the carbon brushes in the motor.

After that, if it's all checked out ok, time for the engineer.

As it could be costly on parts, ie. possibly a motor and a main pcb, I'd be tempted to pay Hoptoint the £100 charge and have them repair it. You do have a 5 year parts warranty or you can use the Hotpoint parts and labour repair for the fixed fee.

Hope this helps
