How can I fix my TomTom XL one widescreen?

Hi my tomtom does not seem to switch on can you help me fix it please?

Had same problem -

1. back up onto computer
2 delete all date from Tom Tom
3 Reinstall from back up on computer

took mine all night, but does the trick
