I am fitting a new immersion heater in my hot water tank but seem unable to drain the water correctly.Please could you advise me how to drain the tank.

turn off cold water and open all taps. try to find drain off on tank if not . remove union from top of cyclinder,you may release a bit of water at this time .then get a hosepipe stick thru union to bottom of tank go to other end of hosepipe and suck.leave until all water is drained off you can tell by the sound.
