Ironing caused shiny patche?

Ironing has caused shiny patches on a pair of very expensive navy blue golf shorts - is there any way to fix this?

Use a piece of !00% cotton, dish towel, white t-shirt - not a towel with terry loops on it. Dampen lightly with white vinegar. Place of the shiny spots and press with you med. hot iron.

If the future, use a pressing clothe or cotton (not terry) dishtowel between fabric and iron or iron inside out, or use a cooler iron.
