why does my phone show as unavailable?

My BT Studio ll00 is used as my internet phone and is connected to a BT Home Hub. When it rings it show as unavailable yet I can answer it on two of the extensions but not on the other. I have reset and changed the batteries. Occasionally the line has a lot of interference on it and other times it is clear. Is here something I can do or do I need to change the phone?
