dishwasher wont finish its cycle?

my diplomat dishwasher will not drain and so does not finidh cycle leaving water in the bottom

The dishwasher may actually be finishing its cycle

If the drain part of the cycle isn't hapening properly because the drain pump is not working then it may look unfinished - if you can start a new programme then the old one has finished.

It may be that the electronics are not telling the drain pump to work - or the drain pump is defective - or there's debris trapped under the pump's impeller blades - which is quite common.

You can usually get to the drain pump impeller from inside the machine - remove all the filters and search for a single Torx screw right at the bottom of the sump - remove the screw and lift off the small cover. The impeller blades may well be clogged up with jam pot labels - bits of metal foil - lemon pips etc. Tweezers may help you to remove them.

The impeller blades should move freely but with a bit of magnetic resistance.
