My HT-Z310 Samsung blew off when connected to 220 volts instead of 110 volts. The stand by ic and other capacitors on the pcb went off. The capacitors have been replaced, but the stand by ic number could not be identified. Can someone please help me with the correct identification No. or its substitutes?

I have a samsung ht-z310 system and started experiencing the protected-off problem after about 5 years.
Uncabeling all apart from the power cable made no difference.
I opened the the box and noticed the fan was working properly and no dust prevented the cooling functionality.
But on the mother board one IC circuit equipped with an aluminium cooling device was very hot compared with the others.
After mouting a block of cupper on top of it to help it getting rid of the generated heat the problem has disapperad.
Protected-off is now gone.

Same problem but I found the resistor SWR 60 on the power supply to be fried. I will try to replace it. If you try to do the same be careful of the capacitor. It is around 500V dc.

I have the same issue. Protect mode ... fan is not working.... Samsung products really sucks. I also have issue with my Samsung tv and that is a very common problem discussed over the internet. I'll think 100 times before buying any samsung product.

I thought i was the only one with this problem but it appears not, i have found that if you only plug it in when you want to use it then it seems to work fine and saves me cash on my lecy bill

Same issue

Mines about 18months old - stated doing this about 2 months ago
No real pattern to it apart from if it's not been on all day it switches on & stays on generally so overheating sounds kinda plausible as if you switch it off & on again it won't have it.
Presumeably fixing it will be the cost of a new one

Mine turns on for 3 seconds, then says "protect" and shuts off. I've had mine for over a year and haven't used it much. When I took off the top, it appears everything is in order as no parts are fried. Some people think that the speaker wires trip the protection, but I've unplugged them all and still have the same problem. To get this to work again, I unplug it for the night and then leave it on the next time I use it. Shutting it down will give me the "protect" error and shut it off again. I have older equipment that I've had for decades and still have no problems with. I've concluded that the HT-Z310 is a piece of junk!...So many complaints as well--- well you get what you pay for!

I have the same protect problem--mine is intermittent.
I called Samsung and they said it was overheating. I looked at the rear cooling fan and it was not going.Doesn't matter if the system was on or cold. I took it apart and sure enough the fan was ok but sometimes it did not run. When the fan ran the system worked-when it didn't I got the protect problem!!!,I am trying to get a schematic of the fan circuity--so far no luck. I will junk it before I send it back for repair and that will be the end of Samsung for me.

Mine is doing the same problem. I called samsung and they said it would have to be looked out. My warranty is up...So I might as well go get a new one but Im definately not using Samsung again. The product is only a year old!!
