I gave the wrong purchase date in my previous answer, I bought my kit in July 2006 so the batteries lasted 3 years, I don't know if that's good but I now have a Black & Decker (bought with Fly Buys points) and expect it's batteries to last a bit longer and then be able to get replacements

Hi, I'm in Australia and bought the drill kit (drill, torch, sander, jigsaw, two batteries & charger) in about August 2007, I also need two new 18v batteries, Aldi shopkeepers tell me they have them about once a year but when I rang the Melbourne office they said they don't have any info at all and gave me a phone number (freecall to Sydney) which is the same as the product support number on the instruction manual that came with the drill kit, rang them and they said they have no parts and they can't buy them as the manufacturer only sells direct to Aldi. Someone should be in the know but I can't be bothered ringing the head office in Sydney (not freecall) and paying trunk charges, all in all it makes you lose confidence in Aldi
