how do you service Lofra oven ?

i have a lofra 5 hub gas cooker with electric fan assisted oven. The oven is not getting as hot as it should do. Everything takes twice as long to cook. the oven light does not work either.
Is it just a service it needs ?

On my door and underneath there are only 2 screws holding the hinge mechanism to the door. On the hinge mechanism itself (I took whole thing apart to see this) there are four holes so someone in factory neglected to put the other two in. Easy fix, align hinge, tighten existing screws, drill holes same position as existing screws but on other side of hinge, insert screws or better yet rivets. Probably best to take door off which is simple - lift two tabs pull/push up and out. Perfect fix.

august 2010. we also have the same problem with heating the oven to temperature. it never gets there so we have also found the answer is to run on the center fan setting only and you can achieve full temperatures.

also the door problem is common in that it does not close properly. We have not found the solution to this yet other than a piece of elastic tied to the handle and then stretched to the top hob and attatched to the metal griddle.

We have a lofra MXDC96AMFE/CV which has 5 gas rings and 2 electric ovens, one large and one small. The small oven works fine but the large oven keeps on shutting down which leads to food not being cooked thoroughly. I found that the digital clock starts to hum (middle c?) and at the same time the fan/heater element stops working. After a bit of experimentation I found that if you press the button to reset the clock and hold it in for a few seconds until the display starts to flash (like when you're changing the time) then the large oven fan/element start working again. I leave the display flashing. The board is made by EAS srl of Italy and has a part number of P51397 0461 03010711. The last part of the number being the Lofra part number. I hope this helps. I've been buying Italian electrical products for a few years and I have to say that the aesthetics are impressive but the technology is flawed (looks great but doesn't last). Shame as I love going to Italy and dealing with Italians.

Sounds like an element has gone! Mine has similar trouble - this usually occurs on a certain programme... both the bottom elements have gone on mine and there isn't anywhere it seems where you can get them from. Try the programme just using the back fan/element - that works for us. I have found a site that makes up elements from scratch http://www.elementreplacement.co.uk - hope this helps. I've searched high and low for a contact responsible for picking up the pieces on Lofra products - but since they went bust years ago there's been a string of failings on support and spares. Looks like we're on our own!
