My Bosch WFF 1401 is about 6 years old and lately has taken to jumping part or all of the spin cycle. I can stand and watch it jump click click then stop at the end of the cycle. Is it that this is an expensive fault requiring major work or is there a simple solution?

Sorry. No answer here but I've JUST had the same problem!! I've unscrewed the filter and water is coming out but can't get the thing actually out to see if there is a clog in the filter.
