when I put any type of cd/dvd into my Bose 321 media player,there is a noise like the disc is spinning,yet it still plays

yes all cd/dvd players must spin the discs in order to read the information. the data starts from the center of the disc and is written outward in the layers to the outer ring of the cd/dvd. so when you pop that cd/dvd in it spins in order to read the information on the disc.
