I have a Kenmore 90 series washer that won't go into the spin cycle?

I have a kenmore 90 series washer(about 7 years old) that won't go into the spin cycle. A repariman has come and thought it was the timer and circuit board. But, after replacing the timer and circuit board the washer still will not go into the spin cycle and it will not drain. It acts as though the motor is overloading and the machine justs stops. Any ideas?

Our Kenmore 90 also won't go into the spin cycle. I felt under the top and the tab of the lid switch has broken off. How do I get the top off and where can I buy a new switch?

I have the same problem, and I know that the switch is the problem. I haven't figured out how to get the top up. I think that there are screws instead of the usual snap-in clips I am used to. I can feel one on the right side, though I cannot find one on the left and I am uncertain what is the best way to get it open. Can you help me?

Hello,

If your washer washes ok and sits there dead during the drain/spin cycle, the problem is with the lid switch. It is either broken or loose. Stick a pencil down where the lid shuts on the switch. With the switch pressed down you should hear it click if its functioning properly. If you need help opening the washer I can help.
