We just installed a second hand machine previously owned by my daughter and notice a few things. First, even when the on/off switch is in the OFF position all lights on the machine illuminate when the main switch is put ON. Second, the machine moans and groans as if the drum can't move at the beginning of a cycle and after the end of a cycle. Third, the machine has a 'knocking' sound when spinning. Apart from these things it does a great wash!
