micra automatic gearbox?

bought 1996 1000cc micra automatic with faulty gearbox,local garage replaced the converter,but car rolls back or forward on slope when foot is lifted up from brake padel,garage do not know what is the problem,can any one help,please

This is normal for this type of box. It must disengage or you will not be able to move selector without crunching/stalling. The 'torque converter' is an electric powder clutch that when activated magnetizes iron dust to provide drive into the cvt. Hope that explains it.
