Shorty - the blockage may be outside - my toilet blocks every few months due to obstruction of paper waste in the outflow pipe of the inspection pit - the outflow will point to the street direction - I fix mine not by trying to push the obstruction down the pipe but by pulling it back. Takes just 10 minutes now I know what to do. I bought drain rods for £30 but the best tool is a six foot length of plumbers barrier pipe.
