I have had the same troubles with exactly the same machine.
In my experience you don't need a special tool. The shop near me has told me you should be able to loop the belt around the pulley and part around the drum without the need to move to motor. Then by rotating the drum it should pull the belt into place.
I haven't been able to test this theory yet, as the belt the same shop gave me is far too tight to reach between the pulley and belt without moving the motor.
You could try moving the motor if you wish; Its located at the bottom of the drum on that model, its held on by 2 small nuts, remove one and you should be able to rotate it 45 degrees or so in that direction.
I know i'm not a lot of help since I haven't fixed the problem myself, but I thought i'd share experience.
