how do i fix my plumbing?

I have had to turn my cold water stop tap off,its started making a noise as soon as it is turned back on,its only just started to do this,any answers as to what it can be?I have not got a clue!!!

Sounds as tho' the jumper in the stoptap has worn and causing banging due to the pressure in the system. it can also be due to a worn washer. You prob need a new valve but try a new washer first. You can also fit a pressure arrestor in the system if the water pressure is high.
