Can I fix my Frister Rossmann 402?

My Frister Rossmann 402 blows the fuses for my whole house when I try to use it, was working fine then seconds later I put my foot on the pedal my power went out. I have checked connections in power lead & pedal, this is no problem when not connected to machine. Could it be the motor if so can I replace it or would it have to go to repairer? The machine is fitted in a cabinet so would rather fix it but do not want to spend a fortune as it is so old.

Hello Kim,
It may well be the motor, I can't remember what the 402 looks like but if the motor is outside you can get replacement motor and control quite easily, if the motor is inside you can still get a replacement motor but it will mean taking the motor out and goiung to a sewing machine shop for an exact match, check the wires on the inside of the machine if the motor is inside.
