pressure light won't go off?

I have a potterton puma 80 the pressure gauge was reading low and the red light was on. Opened valve and pressurised boiler now the light won't go out ,and the boiler won't ignight. any ideas.

the water pressure switch will be blocked, it needs to be cleaned and possibly replaced.
