Car radio keeps beeping?

I have exactly the same problem as Karla with my Clarion car radio which came with my Peugeot 206cc new in 2003. I stopped to get petrol and when I turned the key back on the radio will play (and CDs) but there is a persistent beeping noise. I phoned the dealer, but he said it didn't need a code - he said it wouldn't go if it had no code and would say this on the display. Can anyone help so I can get rid of the beeping? I have locked it and unlocked, taken the battery lead off, but still have the beeping...

It will probably have to go to a dealer
The software used to match the vin number with your car's vin
A dealer will probably charge around £60 for half hour of work
It's probably worth doing if it has a built in display and volume and other functions are on the steering wheel
This usually happens if the unit is from another car like a Citreon picasso to another Citreon picasso
The stereo probably works perfectly well but the dealer will have the software to disable the bleeping sounds

Did you get this sorted Rowena? Mine is doing the same, ahhhhhh!

Your radio does not have a radio code as such, however it will have your cars chassis number programmed into its memory.Sometimes a software fault can erase this number from the radios memory.Usually it can be reprogrammed using Peugeot diagnostic equipment.
