How to replace an unobtainable microwave Neff bulb?

Neff microwave model H5642NOGB/02 bulbs are no longer available. Is there a fix?
Simon Quin, December 2009
You can replace this blb with a General Electric 15w SES oven lamp and a Maplin lamp holder type N24BW. Unscrew the 4 screws at the back of the oven and pull the top cover towards the back. This exposes the lamp. Remove the lamp from the clips and pull off the connections. File flats on the lamp holder until it fits between the original clips. Take the original bulb and hacksaw the base off. Drill out the tab rivets. Desolder the rivets from the tabs and remove. Flatten the tabs and drill 3mm. Use M3 screws to attach the old lamp base to the Maplin replacement. You can use the Maplin part as a drill jig. Fix the tabs to the Maplin base. Screw the bulb into the holder and attach the wires. Clip the holder assembly onto the existing clips.

First find your lamp (Base Voltage Watts all important)
Take lid off oven
Remove old lamp
Insert new lamp

Good luck...
