My Bush combined DVD and VCR DVHRS02 has stopped and when I switch on just tells me to WAIT......
Eventually it goes back to standby.

My Bush DVHRS02 has failed on the digital modes, the VCR works but nothing else. Bush customer support has been umable to help. Your earlier contributor is right, it's not the old Bush I remember when they were the best TV and Radio sets you could buy, it would seem it's just a badge now with little behind it.

One of the disadvantages of buying makes like Bush are they often cannot provide a backup service or spares.
Unfortunately people still relate Bush to the earlier Rank/Bush Murphy brand but they have been out of business for many years and some other company are just using the name.
Another example is Mitsubishi who nolonger manufacture tv or vcr.
If out of warranty I would spend a little more and purchase a brand that will provide a service like Sony, Toshiba or Panasonic.

As a follow up I managed to get a local shop to look at my DVHRS02 and he diagnosed the DVD drive to be at fault but is unable to track down a replacement.
It's a Loader (BDR-L04P) built by BTC (China).
I have contacted BTC (NL branch) and they say that the drive is OEM and not a retail product!
They suggest that a could use a DRW1004IM but the F/W is different and are not unable to release the correct F/W so I might encounter some problems. Have contacted Bush again and asked if they can advise on how I can find a replacement disk.
I am tempted to just buy a dvd writer off the shelf but will it work?
