How can I fix my LG GR359SQ?

Ice keeps forming in the bottom of the freezer compartment. I'm told the problem may be a drain blockage, but I'm not sure of this. If that really is the problem, I don't know how to locate and gain access to the drain, or the best way to unblock it and prevent recurrence.

I'm a pensioner, so expensive repairs are beyond my means. Can anyone please help?

Hi I am having problems with the fridge part of the above product. Even though the fan is working there isn't any cool air circulating at all. Like previous people I have also had a build up of ice at the bottom of the freezer part for the last few weeks would this by why the fridge has packed up.

Can anyone help me please?

I had the same issue, a pool of ice at the bottom of the freezer compartment. I fixed the problem in a similar way to Peabrain's solution posted here.

I download the service manual and whilst the drain pipe at the back was dry and unblocked, I took the internal shelves out and removed panel 332A (hard to pull off because of ice and clips- be careful of the clips!), then panel 330A, and discovered ice at the bottom blocking the draining hole at the lower left (hidden until the ice was removed).

Once exposed I put hot water down that hole, the blockage was cleared and the water flowed out the drain pipe at the rear. Whilst I broke a couple of clips removing the panels, I got them all back in together and the problem is now fixed.

Thank you Peabrain!

Excellent answer "Electo" It worked a treat on my freezer.... under the ice ther was a build up of gunk hiding in the drain pipe. Flushed it through with hot water and all sorted.

Dear Electo.
Followed instructions.
Did the trick.
Thank you.

hi
i have had the same problem but i think i have solved it

go to http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=36027
and get the service manual

you need to take the back plate off the fridge part 304A
and the drain pipe is there pull the pipe off its just a push fit and push a wire down it if its clear you will need to take two panals out of the frezzer

panle 332A has two screw and clips around the edge
its a bit tricky to get off due to ice at the bottom

then take pannle 330A off just held on with clips at the side then unplug the fan

you will see there will be loads of ice in the bottom
just melt it and jobs done

hope that a help

Not a solution, I'm afraid, but I have exactly the same problem. Eventually I end up with a pool of water on the floor. I have tried examining the internals etc - cannot find a drain hole?

Please let me know if you find a solution.
